Dental Sedation - Nervous about dental treatment?
Would you like to have treatment but are too anxious or scared?
Lifestyle Dental supports nervous patients in overcoming dental anxiety by offering a calm, understanding approach tailored to individual comfort levels. We take extra time to listen, reduce pressure, and ensure every step of treatment feels manageable and controlled.
We do this by:
Dr Majid is the principal dentist and practice owner, and has over 20 years experience in administering intravenous sedation.
He will administer the drug, be with you for all procedures and carry out treatment while you are undergoing sedation.
Dr Majid is very proud of offering intravenous sedation, as it means he can help anxious patients get dentally fit.
Not everyone is suitable for intravenous sedation in a dental setting. As part of the selection process we undertake a full dental examination to assess your needs. We will do a further in depth pre op medical assessment where we give you an in depth description of what dental intravenous sedation is, what it can do for you, what to expect and the alternative anxiety management options that are available. Only then can we confidently recommend intravenous sedation where appropriate.
If you require more information about intravenous sedation, as well as any other anxiety management option, please call the practice on 01772 717316 to discuss the options available to you in full.
“I recently made an appointment with Nadim for dental treatment. I was a very nervous patient, but everyone there immediately put me at ease. Nadim was easy to talk to and explained everything clearly. Because my anxiety was severe, I chose sedation, and I felt supported throughout the entire treatment. Jenna even called me few days later to check how I was recovering at home. This caring completely changed my thinking. What once caused blind panic is now enjoyable and genuinely positive. I would recommend them to anyone. They are wonderful, compassionate practice, and I am forever grateful for my dental journey.”

Intravenous sedation is when the dentist gives their patient a sedative drug before the dental procedure. It helps reduce anxiety, and many patients do not remember much of the procedure.
Intravenous sedation does not put you to sleep. It is classed as conscious sedation, we can still talk to you, you may lose your memory of the procedure, and your anxiety levels will be extremely low. You cannot drive after the procedure.
Having intravenous sedation means you will be able to complete treatment that you may otherwise have not been able to go through with. Our implant patients often have sedation, and it makes longer appointments more manageable.
